The Bounty Breaker
22.86cm L2.81cm W2.54cm DThis is the Island bar; not to be confused with the other coconut bar found within the shelves of Harbour Centre, 555 W Hastings St, Vancouver, BC V6B 4N4. Within these shelves lies one of Canadas greatest innovations, possibly more important than the invention of insulin.
This island bar spoke to me; literally. As I walked down the aisle, I felt its whispers when passing the shelf it lay on. It spoke its name; The Bounty Breaker.
The spoken word of its name pulled me in, though right beside it, lay something else that caught my attention soon after. The Bounty Monolith. I swiftly grabbed both chocolate bars and ran out of the store, exhilarated and joyful at such a rare find (For such a price of $1.25?). All of the sudden, due to the speed at which I was running from sheer desperation to get to the art gallery, the Bounty Monolith slipped through my fingers, on to the cold, hard concrete. I knew who had won the fight. I carefully held my bounty breaker in my fist, walking carefully as to preserve what is most important to me. Upon getting home, I carefully placed it into the frame it is now displayed in, and it has stood here ever since.
