A standard deck of playing cards, contains 52 cards plus a set of jokers. Playing cards originated in the 9th-century in China during the Tang Dynasty. Victoria decks are made in China, printed on card stock and linen finished with a plastic coating, which are then packaged into small cardboard boxes also sealed in plastic. Within each deck there are 4 suits - Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, and Spades- along with a number or letter amongst the face cards. The primary use of playing cards is for entertainment purposes, playing cards have been used historically for games that bring people together in social settings, from simple family gatherings, card tricks from magicians, and even gambling at the casino. Card decks are made to be compact and portable to satisfy entertainment needs anywhere. An object that provides entertainment and connection at minimal cost.
